Cry Wolf

This seems like it's the year of Patricia Briggs. I've read all three Mercedes Thompson books and the one off story that starts this series and I have the newest Mercedes book and the Christmas novella on hold at the library. Now I finished CRY WOLF. Briggs takes us more into the lives and loves of the Montana werewolves. The story focuses around Charles, son of the American werewolf leader and his mate, Anna - a rare Omega wolf. This is moderately familiar territory for readers of her previous books, but it gets a little more into the magic that surrounds wolves and Montana scenery.
Simply put, Briggs writes an extremely well-paced and enjoyable novel. The reader cares for the characters and it doesn't have to be read as part of the Mercedes Thompson books. I'm interested to see how well she makes the books stand alone, but at least it's not part of some great trilogy that forces a reader to read multiple books of unnecessary prose to get to a conclusion that could have come about halfway through the first book. Briggs is pure fun and should be enjoyed by all urban fantasy lovers.
