U is for Undertow

It took a while, but I finally got the latest Sue Grafton from the library and found the time to read it. I did get it a few months back, but my reading pile was rather deep and I didn't have time to get into it. The hold list at the library is still rather deep, so I held off until I had time.

Our story this time focuses on repressed memories and how they can damage lives. Michael Sutton accused his family of things while under the influence of an unscrupulous therapist. Now those who are left despise him. However, he remembers seeing a kidnapping as a child and now no one believes him. Michael hires Kinsey to see if it relates to a famous kidnapping from many years back. However the evidence says that it couldn't have been that kidnapping. So wat did Michael really see.

Grafton shifts the POV from Kinsey's present day investigations to Deborah Unruh's visit from her drop-out son, Walter's present day troubles and Jon's history. We know these last two are connected to the crime, but exactly how it all fits together is the mystery.

Grafton's Alphabet series keeps growing and i wonder when we'll see V.
